April 2014 - Terminal Building Work and Terrazzo Floors

Looking into the Tunnel towards Lyman street, NCM Contracting has been working hard to remove the non-structural elements and make the tunnel safe for the engineers to review and inspect.

The tunnel structural steel which supports the train tracks above has been cleared of all debris so that the Project's Engineers can begin their review and inspection.

Workers remove the deteriorated clay tile wall facade which was subject to moisture damage over the years. New wall finishes will be installed in the tunnel as part of the Union Station project.

The original Terrazzo floor in the terminal is cleaned and will be protected to prevent any damage during the construction activities. The goal will be to restore and reuse the original floor where possible.

A closer shot of the original Terrazzo floor.
