SUMMARY: The Director of the Springfield Police Department is responsible for assuming a leadership role in the development, maintenance and application of policies and procedures for crime and loss prevention, law enforcement, and safety and security services for the Springfield Police Department. Supervises and evaluates staff members as directed by the Commissioner, recommending appropriate corrective action or commendation; manages direct reports. Makes recommendations for the Springfield Police Department facilities, equipment, personnel and operations needs to the Commissioner. Collaborates with the Commissioner to problem solve and resolve conflicts.
