Blunt ParkThe recent tennis court renovation, basketball court light installation, and addition of drinking fountains at each ball field at Blunt Park completes Phase II of a three phase project. The six existing tennis courts underwent a complete renovation which included new nets, perimeter fencing, and new playing surface. These courts contribute to the available play area for local schools, residents and visitors throughout the region. Earlier improvements included the installation of a toll booth and one-way road through the park, bikeway/walkway, renovated and expanded parking lots, along with handicap accessible spaces, storm water retention and drainage, new equipment storage facilities, tree trimming and removals to improve safety, upgraded athletic fields, irrigation system, re-grading of the athletic fields, new basketball court and increased signage to direct both vehicle and foot traffic through the park, renovated restroom facilities, ADA accessible amenities, new backstops, player benches, and trash receptacles. Blunt Park’s ball fields, basketball and tennis courts, playgrounds, picnic areas, and bike paths provide active and passive recreation to residents and visitors alike. The Department of Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management is dedicated to creating, establishing and maintaining parks that encourage and support family oriented activities.
