356 - RFP: Non-Exclusive Real Estate Brokerage Services

The City of Springfield, Massachusetts, ("City") through its Department of Planning, Economic Development and other various city departments wishes to engage real estate brokerage ("Consultant") services to market and sell, City and Redevelopment Authority owned surplus and tax title commercial and industrial properties.

The Consultant will be expected to work primarily with the City's Finance Control Board's Chief Development Officer, Planning & Economic Development, and the Redevelopment Authority to keep them informed regarding the performance of the Services through regular scheduled reports, meetings and visits to the various properties.

The Consultant will be responsible for the following Services.
1. Prepare for sale and represent the City's interest in the sale of assigned properties through a procurement process.
2. Develop and implement marketing strategies for assigned properties to yield the highest financial benefits for the City. Provide a monthly report to the assigned staff contact about current/new marketing efforts,contacts/leads, and other developments for each of the property listings. Maintain timely telephone and/or e-mail contact with the assigned staff when there are active listings.
3. Attend staff and/or meetings to provide progress updates when requested.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
