FY 2010 Tax Rates

The City of Springfield has set tax rates for FY 2010:

Residential Property Rate:   $19.50 per $1,000 of value

Commercial/Industrial/Personal Property Rate:  $39.25 per $1,000 of value

Overvalue Applications

The last day to file Fiscal Year 2010 Overvalue Applications for Abatements on both Real and Personal Property valuations was Friday, February 26, 2010. This deadline cannot be extended or waived by the for any reason.  If your application was not been timely filed with the Office, you lose all rights to an abatement and, per Massachusetts General Laws, the cannot grant you one.


FY 2010 Proposed Property Valuations

The Springfield Board of Assessors has issued proposed valuations for all Real Estate for Fiscal Year 2010.  The values represent the full fair cash value of the property as of January 1, 2009 based on sales of comparable properties and market information during calendar year 2008 and part of 2009. The list of properties is sorted in alphabetical order by street name. A list of comparable residential sales is also provided.

FY 2009 Property Tax Information
