Students in Mrs. Manos’s second grade class invited a very special guest to speak on the subject of local government. On Monday, June 13, Mayor Dominic Sarno fielded a host of questions prepared by the students in addition to sharing the history of many other Springfield Mayors.
“How long is your day? What do you do? How did you get your job? Is it hard? Who was the mayor when you were a child? Have you ever been to the Springfield Armory?” were some of the questions asked by the students and read off of index cards they had written in advance for the visit.
Mayor Sarno answered every question students asked him and complimented students on their level of engagement and questioning. It was a very special day for both Mayor Sarno and the class!
