399 Orange Street Set for Demolition

What:   Demolition of 399 Orange Street

When: Monday, September 14 2015 at 10:30 a.m.

Where: 399 Orange Street, Springfield, MA

September 10, 2015 -Springfield, MA- Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and City of Springfield Housing Officials will be announcing the demolition of 399 Orange Street. 

The demolition of this building is a priority of our residents and is another part of the concentrated efforts to eliminate blight throughout the City, and in the Forest Park neighborhood,” stated Mayor Domenic J. Sarno.

399 Orange Street is a city owned, tax foreclosed property. In the past the City had unsuccessfully attempted to sell the building, and it has now been determined that rehabilitation of the property is not feasible.  

Asbestos abatement and demolition will be completed by Jay-Mor Inc., of Pelham, New Hampshire.

The total cost of asbestos abatement and demolition is $78,115.00.  Environmental oversight of the projects is being performed by Cardno/ATC of West Springfield, Massachusetts.   

Demolition and cleanup will be occurring on-site at 10:30 a.m.
