The Zone Nightclub to be Subject of Entertainment License Hearing
December 22, 2014 –Springfield, MA- The City of Springfield Law Department (City) has issued a Notice of Hearing to Mr. Paul Ramesh, The Zone located at 78-80 Worthington Street.
The notice (see attached), issued by Assistant City Solicitor Stephen M. Reilly, Jr., stated that Mayor Domenic Samo, as the licensing authority for entertainment licenses in the City of Springfield, has scheduled a hearing to address the alleged violations:
204CMR 2:05(2), No licensee for the sale of alcoholic beverages shall permit any disorder, disturbance, or illegality of any kind to take place in or on the licensed premises. The licensee shall be responsible whether present or not. Four Counts: To wit; A) Hindering an investigation, Two Counts; Dates of Offense: December 13, 2014 and December 17, 2014, B) Failing to call for the police, Date of Offense: December 13, 2014, and C) Failure to post the liquor license in a conspicuous place, Date of Offense: December 13, 2014.
“We will continue to vigorously pursue that pouring establishments are adhering to state law and city ordinance. This non-sense of non-compliance and hindrance of investigations has to stop as public safety is of paramount importance to any and all who come to these establishments. We will not tolerate this type of behavior,” stated Mayor Domenic J. Sarno.
The entertainment license hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in Room 221 in Springfield City Hall.
