SPRINGFIELD DPW REMINDS RESIDENTS THERE WILL BE NO RUBBISH COLLECTION ON THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY

November 24, 2013 -Springfield, MA- The Department of Public Works reminds Springfield residents who have municipal trash collection that there will be no collection service on Thursday, November 27th due to the Thanksgiving holiday, this includes: recycling, yard waste and bulk item pick up. 

Collection of rubbish will take place on Saturday, November 29th for residents with Thursday rubbish collection.  Residents who have recycling collection service on November 27th should also place their recyclables and yard waste out on Saturday, November 29, 2014.

Please be aware, yard waste is extremely heavy at this time of year.  If the Thursday yard waste routes are not complete at the end of Saturday, It will be collected on Monday, December 1, 2014.

Items should be placed out for collection no later than 6:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 29, 2014. The City’s 3-1-1 Call Center will be staffed on Saturday to take resident inquiries regarding collection.
