$6 MILLION RENOVATION KICKED OFF BY “SILVERBRICK LOFTS – SPRINGFIELD”  

Formerly known as Morgan Square Apartments to be Fully Renovated for Market Rate Housing

September 3, 2014 -Springfield, MA- Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined The SilverBrick Group on Wednesday, September 3rd, at 2:00 PM to kickoff renovations of the former Morgan Square Apartments, to be renamed “SilverBrick Lofts – Springfield”.

The event will take place at 1611 Main Street, in a storefront space. The SilverBrick Group will outline plans for the property and offer a view of existing conditions of the property.

The property consists of 280 units in multiple buildings, consisting of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and townhomes ranging from 550 sf to 1,215 sf, which include extraordinary architectural detail such as exposed brick, wood beams, arched windows and 25 foot high ceilings.

The property resides in the heart of downtown Springfield with frontage along Main Street and just one block from Union Station redevelopment project.

Enhancements will include a state of the art fitness center, game room and lounge, re-designed lobbies and leasing office, upgraded landscaping and courtyards and luxury finishes to the units such as granite counters, stainless steel appliances and wide plank flooring.

Historically the properties were known as the Wason-Springfield Steam Power Blocks. The properties were developed in the 1870’s by the J.W. Wason Car Company and the Springfield Steam Power Company and served as important facilities to support new business development.
