Erdmann and Springfield’s Call Center Director Donna Carney announced today that it has recently expanded its existing service request system to include a smart phone application (app) on the Android and iPhone platform. This latest advancement, with single-click connection allows residents to communicate with City Hall with even greater convenience.
This app allows residents to log on, enter a service ticket for such items as traffic signal outages, pot holes, trimming of tree limbs, ordinance violations, graffiti and many other quality of life issues. It allows the user to view any prior requests they’ve entered into the phone application and an option for users to attach pictures. With one touch, the location, time and type of work are instantly uploaded to a web-based smart phone application.
“The City remains committed to quality of life issues that are of great importance to our residents,” stated Mayor Domenic J. Sarno. “This allows another avenue for residents to report concerns to city hall with greater convenience.”
This mobile application is a similar service request system currently utilized by the 311 call center employees and will provide for the seamless transfer of information to city departments receiving the request and will receive the same priority as those requests made directly through a 311 call taker. The call center currently uses Intelligov out of Columbia, Maryland and they have offered this option as part of their service package with no additional cost to the city.
Springfield’s 311 Call Center Director Donna Carney stated “I’m pleased to be able to offer this service to the residents of Springfield so that there is an additional way to reach city hall and we encourage any residents to contact our call center for service requests or use the new service so that we may be of assistance.”
The addition of the Android, iPhone and Ipad applications is a compliment to the 311 live customer service line and website www.springfieldcityhall.com/311 to offer flexibility in serving Springfield’s residents 24/7.
